Google Chrome available for Linux

This is an ALPHA release. That means it is known to still be extensively broken, and not for you.

Linux unstable_i386.deb
Linux unstable_amd64.deb

And mac.

And they announced a Google Chrome OS.

This is posted from Chrome under (Ubuntu) Linux. The install was effortless / perfect.

Soon to come: SVG awesomeness rant.

I am so excited about the Google Chrome OS project. My laptop came with Vista installed. I don't like it at all, but I don't have the geek cred to run Linux or something like that. I love Google and I bet the OS is going to be great.

I don't want to discourage you from using it, but from what I've read, it's not intended to be a general-purpose OS. It's my understanding that it will be the Linux kernel with a new windowing system on top of it, designed to run the web browser and not much else.

Thanks, that's good to know. I was definitely planning to find out more before I dove in.

I'm excited to see that Chromium is coming along. Do you know if it's possible to get the Linux port of Chrome to use Flash?
