I may start frequently posting minor stuff, heavily lj-cutting. I would rather not do this than get removed from friends lists or read filters, so please let me know.

I really wish lj would allow us to set the priority of our posts, and then use those priority numbers in read filters.

It's pretty lame, when you get right down to it. I also wish there was a simple one-click way to create a URL link. Every real blog in the universe has that.

On a typical blog (such as moveable type) you can just highlight some text, click a button and paste in a URL. It then constructs the HTML for you so that your highlighted text becomes a link to that URL.

In LJ's default UI you need to type the "a href" syntax yourself.

"too long" is subjective. It also restricts the ability to create links to people who know HTML syntax and remember it at that precise moment.

And no, I haven't submitted a bug report. It's more on the order of "if you were a real blog you'd have real blog features."

If you use the rich text editor in LJ you can highlight the text you want and click the 'Insert/Edit Link' button (right next to the 'Size' drop down) to do this...

I don’t think it works for commenting, but for posting you can just click on the "Rich Text" tab and then you get a little link icon you can click on to add links.
