VDPAU support in new official Ubuntu Karmic package of mplayer.

VDPAU is nvidia hardware acceleration of video decoding. Particularly of interest is H.264 (blu-ray), since one core of my CPU isn't enough to keep up with 1080p H.264 (and the x264 codec isn't threaded). It's nice.

The Karmic package can be installed without fully upgrading to Karmic via apt pinning: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PinningHowto

The official ubuntu package just came out today. I just tested it.

I'd like to try pinning it, but one of the first things the page says is "you should probably not do this on an Ubuntu system" so I think I'd better wait ...
