I'm going to be a little light on the details here, but my dad installed a
whole-house attic fan in our house, once. (It was the first house I
remember.) I'm not sure if he had it vented out of the attic, or if it
just blew into the attic, but it sure would suck excess heat up and out of
the house. It was in the hallway ceiling and would go mighty fast when
turned up.
I'd imagine that, if you found a suitable spot between the two floors,
you could just install one of those kinds of fans in the floor/ceiling to
get it to move air around. I don't know how effective it would be, though.
