I just got my motorcycle learner's permit.

I was at the RMV for 30 minutes, including looking around for a pen, going across the street to get one, coming back to find out my number had already been called, and getting a new number.

I missed 1 question: How long will your license be suspended for a drug offense ?
The answer is: 1-5(?) years depending on the offense. I'm sure about the 1, not the 5. But it was the only answer that started with 1 year. And I believe someone else told me they got the same question wrong.

Now I need to sign up for the safety class.

The bike I want is a Suzuki SV650S. The specific one I expect to buy is currently in Alabama, and is likely to be in Philly in 1 month.

My boss overheard me and saw a picture of the bike. He's convinced I'm going to die.

I think [livejournal.com profile] nchanter, my mom, and my dad, are probably all going to kill me.

Update: Signed up for the beginner's course at Ironstone Ventures in Acton on 8/14 and 8/15.

err.. okay, this is possibly a dumb question... but is there some weird governmental place I've never heard of called RMV or did you mean DMV?

In the People's Republic of Massachusetts we like to call it the Registry of Motor Vehicles, not the Department of Motor Vehicles. It takes a bit of getting use to. I think it's because Massachusetts and the people in it like to pretend we're socialists.
