This is a seven minute movie and demo of blender, a free (GPL) 3D modeling application, which is pretty amazing. Every object is made up of lots of polygons. You can grab any number of vertexes and drag them around in 3D space.
The characters are a rabbit, squirrel, chinchilla, and sugar glider.
